Atlanta Financial Associates

Atlanta Financial Associates

The Brief

Atlanta Financial Associates has been offering financial advisory services for more than 25 years, “Making Life’s Journey Richer” for clients by building wealth management plans that turn dreams into reality.

Atlanta Financial Associates (AFA) had a website built on a platform managed by a large investment brokerage. The system was not very flexible and AFA regularly found they really couldn’t do what they wanted to do with their website given the limitations of the platform. In addition, it was not possible to make the smallest of changes to the website without having a compliance associate review, approve and publish it. This process could sometime take several days. In today’s fast-paced business environment, this was untenable. They needed a more robust, flexible and agile solution.

The Solution

As the Web Developer on this Project for Michael Mackenzie Communications, using WordPress as the new, more flexible and robust CMS, I developed a website that directly addressed the issues that had been previously plaguing AFA. Their new website is easy to edit and changes can be made 24/7 on a moment’s notice. It is fast-loading, dynamic, mobile-responsive and SSL secured.

AFA now has a website that is ready for their continued growth and expansion. Multiple megamenus provide quick, visual “and” descriptive links to AFA’s extensive product and service offerings.

I continue to provide ongoing WordPress maintenance for this website.

Digital marketing tends to be impersonal, focusing on lists, list building, lead generation, etc. The customer is not thought of as a person or an individual with personalized needs. They are an email address.

Thinking Outside-of-the-Box

Innovation–Thinking Out-of-the-Box

Often in business, as in life, we are presented with problems–I like to call them challenges–that do not present an obvious solution. There is no off-the-shelf solution readily available. Herein lies opportunity. We have the opportunity to come up with a novel idea or approach to solve a new problem. Sometimes it may start out

Gutenberg – A Major Update to WordPress

WordPress released its latest update, WordPress 5.0, this past Thursday, November 6, 2018. I realize this is short notice, but WordPress didn’t announce it until two days prior. Why is this important? WordPress releases updates all the time. Well, this release contains a significant change to the native page and post editing experience with the

An Accidental Leader

An Accidental Leader

I was recently reading Simon Sinek’s New York Times bestseller, Leaders Eat Last: Why Some Teams Pull Together and Others Don’t. It reminded me of a quote from his many talks and podcasts found all over the Internet. It goes something like this… Leadership is not about being in charge, it is about taking care
